How To Make A Professional Sounding Hip-Hop Beat
So you want to make a great sounding hip-hop beat to go over some lryics you've written. You are convinced that all you need is the right beat to go from rags to riches and perhaps you're right. At the very least, you would like to have a few beats to lay-over lyrics to show your friends.
There are two ways to go about this. You can spend thousands of dollars on a professional DAW (digital audio workstation) and spend the time to learn how to use it, including the synthesizer and drum-pads needed and of course a super fast computer. Or you can invest a few bucks into an online or software beat maker that will turn out beats quickly and allow you to export them to mp3 or WAV format in just a few minutes.
Obviously it would be nice to get the professional DAW and spend half your life working on hip-hop beats and producing like a pro. However, reality might start kicking-in about now and making you realize that perhaps for the short term, it would be a good idea to think about getting an inexpensive beat maker that will make your life a lot easier without interferring with your creative juices.
This is where Sonic Producer and DUBTurbo come to the scene to save the day. They're both great beat makers. However I would recommend DUBTurbo for the simple fact that it is more up-to-date and allows for export to WAV format. If you are only exporting to mp3 you are honestly not taking yourself very seriously. However, I will also say that you may want to churn out some quick beats and export them to mp3 and upload them right away. If that is the case, then by all means try out Sonic Producer.
The thing to remember is that you can try out both DUBTurbo and Sonic Producer for a few bucks and with the 90-day return policy you can return the beatmaker you don't want. This is a no questions asked return policy.
Anyway, whatever you decide, you will have a lot of fun making beats...
Good luck with your hip-hop beatmaking!
