Which Beat Maker Is Right For You?
When reviewing beatmakers, it might become obvious that you have a few decisions to make. It's not so much that you can't make great beats with any beatmaker you decide on. But if you prefer to make hip-hop, or enjoy hardcore rap and don't have a lot of cash, the best solution might be simpler than you think.
The truth is that there are some amazing expensive beatmakers that will let you do whatever you want, if you have a few hundred hours to learn how they work. That doesn't mean you should give up on your dream to learn how to use these digital audio interfaces, but in the meantime, there are some really simple and awesome solutions to keep you occupied.
DUBTurbo and Sonic Producer:
These two beat machines are the two that we reviewed extensively for a few reasons. They are insanely cheap ($30) and they are simple to use. If you are new to beatmaking and want to get professional sound without breaking the bank, then this is reall the place to start. Check out DUBTurbo (our #1 choice) and Sonic Producer (a close second and worth considering).
You Suck:
Yeah, somebody had to say it. Let's face it. You might suck at making beats and perhaps your basically a lyricist. If that's the case, you really don't have the time or energy to learn how to use Logic or ProTools (they will both run you about $1500 after all is said and done). The point I am making is that anyone can make sick beats with Sonic Producer but not everyone can say the same thing about Logic or Protools. Just something to think about as you make your decision.
